Council approves application to South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund to continue local programs

The presenter told council, “This application is going to support our ongoing efforts at, JRL and their recovery programs, Next Step, for female inmates,” and added it would also fund treatment court expansion, wraparound services for the solicitor’s office, the crisis intervention team with police, harm-reduction efforts and fire rescue. The presenter also said the city of Conway and the city of North Myrtle Beach are each providing specified funds toward services they receive (Conway: $277,743.86; North Myrtle Beach: $610,833). Council approved the resolution after considering an amendment that was read into the record.
