County reports recurring outages at Fire Tower tank, ongoing troubles at Well #3

County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners the Fire Tower Rd. tank again went out and staff suspects electrical issues; Burgamy Electric has worked on the site and a surge suppressor is expected in about 20 days. Well #3 also has major electrical issues and the county is considering temporary HVAC for electronics and additional repairs.
County Manager Thomas Weaver reported persistent trouble with the Fire Tower Road water tank and continuing electrical problems at well #3. Staff brought in Hammock Wells for an emergency response and said Burgamy Electric has performed much of the recent electrical work on well #3. Weaver said: "We feel like it is an electrical issue," and that if electrical repairs do not resolve repeated outages the county will explore HVAC for electronic components or hire an electrical contractor to repair a suspected sunken ground field.
At the Sept. 22 work session staff said a surge suppression system is being produced in Texas and is expected to arrive in about 20 days; staff also completed several service-line repairs and hired two new water-department employees. Weaver said temporary window units may be used to stabilize electronics until a longer-term fix is installed.
