County manager reports water-permit renewals, trail and dock project updates

County Manager Thomas Weaver briefed the commission during the Jan. 26 work session on departmental items. Weaver said the water department completed four service-line repairs and fixed a lid at well No. 3; he reported that permits for wells 2 and 3 are now current and should be in place for about ten years. Weaver also said he contacted the Corps of Engineers on the dock project and is awaiting approval.
Weaver said the trail grant may allow an extension and that Genesis Wyoming leases the railroad track from GDOT; he offered to provide contact information and noted the county will advertise any public hearing the leasing company sets on related transmission-line work. Weaver also reported that hand dryers were installed at the city park and that baseball registration is open. The update included an EMS response-time figure for 2025: Weaver said the average ambulance response time for 2025 was nine minutes, calculated including mutual-aid responses from surrounding counties.
