Charles Coffey was appointed chairman of the Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County during the Jan. 6 regular meeting after Commissioner Jason Frost moved the nomination and Commissioner Gerald Douglas seconded. The motion carried unanimously; the minutes record that “the vote was unanimous.”
The commission also unanimously approved minutes from Dec. 2, 2025 (regular and executive session) and from Dec. 22, 2025 (work session and executive session). The organizational votes and minutes approvals were routine and were recorded as passed without dissent. The commission scheduled follow-up items for later work sessions, including policy development and contract clarifications.
