The Finance Committee reviewed the EMS enterprise fund operating budget, described as roughly $456,000 to cover fuel, vehicle maintenance, medical supplies and routine EMS costs. Dan Campbell explained the assessment to Northfield is $150,308 and that additional revenue comes from assessments billed to other towns for intercept calls.
Article 11 would authorize the lease or purchase of an EMS response vehicle. Committee members noted a six-to-eight month manufacturing lead time; the EMS Task Force is considering financing options including using reserves, borrowing, or a statehouse note. Selectboard and committee members emphasized that no purchase funds are spent until the EMS chief confirms vendor quotes and places an order.
