The Nutter Fort Town Council on April 28 approved Ordinance 2026-01, which provides a cost-of-living adjustment for town employees for fiscal year 2027. The ordinance was accepted after discussion of previously tabled benefits and enrollment requirements.
The measure passed with four votes in favor and one abstention: Councilors voted yes and Recorder Natalie Haddix abstained; Councilor Karen Phillips was absent. Treasurer Leslie Cummings had noted at the meeting that benefit enrollment thresholds could trigger future reconsideration if enrollment drops below 50 percent. Council members did not change benefits at this time.
