County says FMAG declarations in place for three fires; $120,000 tracked so far, presidential declaration would open public and individual assistance

Chandra told the board that the county has Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) declarations for all three fires and that current response costs (so far) total about $120,000. "We received FMAG declarations on all 3 of these fires... So right now, we're at about a $120,000, in costs," she said, noting that this figure excludes operational overtime hours that are being tracked separately but are allowable under FMAG.
Chandra said a presidential declaration would open Public Assistance (for public-entity recovery) and increase the likelihood of Individual Assistance for households. The county is compiling preliminary damage assessments and is coordinating an application that will include five other counties and three tribal nations; she said the state and FEMA data collection process is underway and staff will follow up with a timeline.
