Allen County approves multiple InDOT reimbursement agreements and road actions, including three bridge projects

Allen County Highway Director Bill Hartman presented several transportation items that the board approved 2‑0 on July 31. Hartman described an 80/20 reimbursement agreement with the Indiana Department of Transportation for Monroeville Road Bridge #295 covering design services in the amount of $623,858.40 (total design $779,823; estimated construction cost $3,015,000; bidding planned for 2031). He also presented an 80/20 agreement for Homestead Road Bridge #224 for $412,400.00 (estimated construction $2,145,000; bid in 2030) and a replacement agreement for Woodburn Road Bridge #51 in the amount of $38,090.08; Hartman said the current structure (51x32 feet) will be replaced with a 65x48 foot structure in 2027.
Hartman also presented Amendment #3 with Clark Dietz for bidding services on the Springfield Center Road culvert replacement (not to exceed $3,100; total contract $117,440; bid opening Aug. 18, 2026) and asked the board to post a 'No Trucks' sign on Winters Road at the request of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department because Bluffton Road is closed until Aug. 17, 2026. All items were approved 2‑0.
