Finance Committee accepts $1.32 million state grant for interoperable communications

The Steuben County Finance Committee voted 5-0 on July 14 to accept a SFY25/26 State Interoperable Communications Grant totaling $1,323,874 for the county Emergency Services/E‑911 program. The motion was made by Jeffrey P. Horton and seconded by Daniel Warriner; a resolution will be prepared to formalize the acceptance.
The committee also approved two additional emergency grants: the SFY25 SHSP grant for $69,656 and the SFY25 Local Emergency Management Planning Grant (LEMPG) for $34,253. All three motions passed unanimously. Committee members noted these awards require formal resolutions and will be incorporated into the department’s grant accounting.
