Recreation staff preview fall programs: Movies in the Park, senior fair and classes

Staff announced fall recreation programming including Movies in the Park (Sept. 13–Oct. 11), a Senior Resource Fair on Oct. 18, fall swim programs and a fall prevention class running Sept. 3–Oct. 22.
Lauren provided a roundup of upcoming and ongoing recreation programs: Dixon High School water polo has begun practice, the Dixon Dolphins’ fall swim program started and will run through October, and fall lap swim and pool rentals continue. “Fall prevention class starts on September 3, and it runs through October 22... This class is designed for people 60 and older,” Lauren said.
Lauren said Movies in the Park will return beginning Sept. 13 and run through Oct. 11 at Hall Park, with five movie nights this year thanks to additional sponsorship. She also listed other planned community events — Brewfest, Halloween trick‑or‑treat downtown and the Christmas tree lighting — and noted some are organized by downtown partners (Downtown Dixon Business Association and the Chamber of Commerce) rather than the city but involve city coordination for closures and safety.
