Commission approves Dixon Dolphins' donated storage shed for aquatic center

Austin George presented the Dixon Dolphins’ proposal to donate a replacement storage shed at the aquatic center and outlined the city’s donation guidelines, which require staff review and commission approval for larger or complex donations. “The new storage shed... it's going to be larger than what's there,” George said, adding that the existing shed is roughly 9 feet tall and the proposed unit would be about 11 feet tall and fit on the current concrete pad.
George said the proposal meets the city’s design and maintenance standards, and the commission moved and voted to approve the donation. Commissioners present voiced support; no public commenters spoke for or against the donation during the meeting. Staff noted plaques are optional for donations and that any plaque larger than 42 square inches would require additional commission approval.
