The Dixon City Parks and Recreation Commission voted on Oct. 28 to cancel its next two regular meetings scheduled for Nov. 25 and Dec. 23, 2025.
Linda Babb, the commission’s senior administrative clerk, presented options for handling meetings that fall near holidays and noted the commission can call a special meeting if urgent business arises. After discussion about historically light agendas and trouble securing a quorum during holiday weeks, a commissioner moved to cancel both dates; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all voting members recorded as voting yes.
Chair Betts said there were no conflicts of interest and opened the meeting’s public comment period for the item; no members of the public spoke. The commission recorded the cancellation as a formal action and noted alternate dates that staff had confirmed — Dec. 8, Dec. 15 or Dec. 18 — would be available if a special consolidated meeting were needed.
