Commission adopts new IRS mileage rate, awards $75,976.56 laptop contract, accepts CVB resignation

County Administrator Gary Wine told the commission the IRS mileage reimbursement rate increased from 72.5 cents to 76 cents effective July 1; the commission approved adopting the updated IRS rate as standard county practice.
Mr. Wine reported the lowest responsive bid for replacement laptops for Fire Board apparatus came from Berry Solutions Group in the amount of $75,976.56; the Fire Board will cover the cost while the county will continue maintenance. The commission also accepted the resignation of Johnny Sullivan from the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board; minutes record Vice President R. Stephen Catlett moved to accept the resignation and Commissioner John Hardy seconded the motion.
