HR Administrator Diann Ferris reported that staff are working with departments on recruitment and hiring needs, addressing employee and union issues, and running annual training through July. Ferris also noted attendance at a Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES job fair, completion of the CNY SHRM Salary and Benefit survey, planned attendance at the NYSAPCSO Conference, onboarding of a new staff member and planned postings for BOCES and several school districts.
The Commission reviewed the upcoming exam schedule (Deputy Sheriff (Custody) T&E 60066-180 on June 1, 2026; Detective 70029-610 on June 13, 2026; Probation Officer I 60065-520 on June 27, 2026). Communications recorded in the minutes included the appointment of Bruce Sherman to the Commission (term 6/1/26–12/31/32) and IM notices regarding Police Disqualifications to CSL 58(1-a), NY HELPS program extension, NY HELPS omnibus resolution text amendment and a Pre-Employment Police Basic Course. The Commission set its next regular meeting for July 14, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. and adjourned at 3:51 p.m.
