Ottawa County commissioners spent the majority of their May 26 meeting hearing department head budget presentations. Presenters included Todd Heitschmidt (Court Administrator), Sheriff Russ Thornton (911, Juvenile Detention, Law Enforcement), Chris Smith (Public Works Administrator), Shelby Walker (Register of Deeds), JoDee Copple (County Treasurer), Tammi Cox (County Clerk), Truette McQueen (County Appraiser), Keith Coleman (Facilities Director), Jeff Ebel (County Attorney) and Sara Hodges (Health Department Director).
The minutes record the commissioners discussing the Commission budget and General Fund appropriations in addition to the individual department proposals. The meeting recessed for lunch at 12:00 p.m. and reconvened at 12:35 p.m. as the commission continued with the later department presentations and budget reviews.
