The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a $58,213 wire transfer from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to JT's Pro Pressure Washing LLC to pay for painting Rainbow Bridge. Joni Hicks of the Road and Bridge Department requested the payment and Commissioner Myra Carlisle Frazier moved to approve the transfer; Commissioner Cory Moates seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Cody Zook told the board "the painting has now been completed on Rainbow Bridge" and noted the original bridge sign is dilapidated and needs replacement. Commissioner Frazier said "the ribbon cutting for Rainbow Bridge will take place on May 2nd at 1:00 p.m." The board agreed sign replacement would be appropriate; no funding source beyond the approved ARPA transfer was specified in the minutes.
