Town reports temporary bridge for Ninja Path; Depot Street crosswalk to get visibility upgrades

Town Manager Dan Monks updated the board on the Ninja Path project: the next phase will proceed using a temporary bridge until a precast bridge is delivered next spring. Monks said the temporary bridge is in good condition and the town obtained a permit for its short-term use. He also credited DPW staff for construction savings on Depot Street, estimating at least $600,000 in savings on that bridge project.
Nancy White raised safety concerns about crosswalk sight lines near the bridge. Monks said transportation planner Mark Anders reviewed site distance and recommended pushing the crosswalk back slightly, adding additional signs and creating a more visible crosswalk; staff noted a challenge in sourcing an oil-based green road paint but committed to completing the improvements. "We had Mark Anders take a look at it, as a transportation planner. He checked the site distance," Monks said.
