Chair Christie Traver and Vice Chair Ariana reported the commission is drafting a community survey intended to gather input from women across Anchorage to inform policy recommendations. Traver described a two-stage approach: distribute the draft survey, then hold targeted listening sessions to get deeper input from specific demographics.
The commission has begun coordinating with municipal staff to support distribution and analysis. Ariana and Traver said they met with Frankie Dahl from the Community Safety and Development Division of the Health Department, who connected them with Emily Bocar, described as an innovation strategist with a Municipalities Initiative team; a follow-up meeting to plan survey deployment and data tools was scheduled. Traver emphasized the value of using city tools for analysis so the commission does not need to fund or build all resources itself.
