The Dixon City Council approved a professional services agreement with MGO for cannabis regulatory compliance assessment services on Sept. 22.
City staff reported they solicited bids and received two firms capable of performing compliance audits for municipalities; MGO (a licensed CPA firm) submitted a bid of $24,096 and staff recommended a five‑year term to permit annual audits of the city’s three licensed cannabis businesses. "They are a licensed CPA firm," the procurement presenter said when describing MGO’s qualifications. Staff said the contract cost will be borne by the cannabis businesses rather than the city’s general fund.
Council voted to approve the award by roll call (three ayes). The council also noted it could direct staff to issue a broader RFP if members desired additional outreach, but no such direction was recorded at the meeting.
