The administration presented a recommendation to approve employees for the district's Guardian Program following training provided by Jones Firearms Training of Plainview, Texas. Staff said those who completed required training submitted applications; some candidates remain pending until outstanding items are resolved.
The presenter explained the district identified two attachments for the board: a letter verifying that the training met House Bill 3 requirements and the list of employees who had submitted applications. "It is the recommendation of the administration to approve the list of employees with the BRACKETT ISD Guardian Program as presented," the presenter said. The board discussed pending items and the need to ensure all requirements are satisfied before final approval of any individual application.
Administrators emphasized that acceptance into the Guardian Program is contingent on meeting training and application requirements, and the district will continue to process pending items before a final personnel action is recorded.
