The committee adopted resolution 4-16 on Aug. 6 approving a $100,000 contract amendment with Repco Incorporated (through the Department of Social Services) to extend an affordable housing support services program to calendar year 2027. Laura Nordstrom, director of housing and homelessness, described the program as focusing on singles, childless couples, seniors and veterans and said it helps clients apply for supportive housing, liaise with landlords and navigate supportive programs.
"This program in 2024 housed 37 individuals or cases. In 2025, it was 38, I believe. And in '26, they're well on their way to exceeding that number this year," Nordstrom said. She added the program is roughly 52% county funded with the balance reimbursed. After brief questions, the committee moved and adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Why it matters: The amendment is intended to continue a targeted placement and support program aimed at populations who often require specialized navigation to secure housing. The extension runs through 2027, which staff said is the first two contract extensions since program start-up in 2023.
Next steps: Staff will continue to monitor placement outcomes and billing/reimbursement and report as part of routine program updates to the committee.
