The committee considered Resolution 442 to amend the 2026 Ulster County budget and accept more than $300,000 from New York State DOT under CHIPS/Pave New York. Chair Nolan asked whether CHIPS funds may be rolled from year to year and was told yes; the committee approved the resolution unanimously.
Legislator Briggs moved to adopt and the measure was seconded; administrators noted the funds are a roll-over of prior-year CHIPS allocations and are now available for the county's highway program. The approval allows DPW to program the funds into the capital/highways budget as intended.
