Ulster County approves $100,000 for Tongore Road bridge design and right-of-way work in Town of Olive

Deputy Director (Public Works) Perdi said the funding will be used to complete right-of-way approvals and design work for a legacy bridge project that will include sidewalks on both sides when finished. Chair Nolan and Legislator Stewart emphasized the pedestrian and bicycle connectivity gains — Stewart called the sidewalks "a big enhancement to that area to have the ability to hook, to get people safely across the bridge, but potentially to hook into improvements on the roadways as well." Legislator Donaldson moved to adopt the amendment and the resolution passed unanimously.
DPW said backup materials with the written description for the design scope were included in the packet for consultants and that the funding is available to support the work.
