Sedan council sets pool opening for Memorial Day weekend, begins lifeguard hiring

The council voted unanimously to accept Mayor Kathy Miller's recommendation to open the city pool on Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2026. Crystal Wade made the motion to accept the recommendation and Wellington Butler seconded the motion.
Mayor Miller, City Clerk Lana Smith and Pool Supervisor Bri Ruark will conduct interviews for lifeguard positions. The council also authorized posting for a Street Laborer position for two weeks with a review scheduled for the June 2, 2026 council meeting.
