Mayor's office pitches health-information exchange links and explores modular housing factory for faster units

A mayor's office representative said the city applied to the Rural Health Transformation Program to connect crisis-system and safety-net providers to the state health information exchange and to pilot behavioral-health projects.
"We're trying to get better connectivity for, like, our health department teams, our police and fire teams, and also, ultimately, our shelter providers," the mayor's office presenter said, describing efforts to improve referrals and bed-availability information. Staff said that some progress might be possible even without a shared electronic health record.
The presenter also described a tour of a modular-housing fabrication factory and said the city is exploring how modular units built offsite could meet local building codes and speed housing production, while pursuing matching funds to support deployments.
