City posts night-shelter RFP and announces virtual lunch-and-learns for providers

Staff from the housing and homelessness team reported that three municipally funded shelters remain at capacity and that a night-only shelter request for proposals is posted until Aug. 11.
"Our 3 municipally funded shelters are all still full," said a housing-services representative, noting case managers are working to move clients into housing. Staff also announced the night-only shelter RFP and encouraged providers to review the posting.
The team said it will host a six-month series of virtual lunch-and-learns for service providers — one Friday a month from 12:00–12:45 — covering topics such as communicable disease preparation and cold-weather readiness, with a 30-minute presentation followed by up to 15 minutes of Q&A. Staff invited attendees to request flyers or email for invites.
