Board members asked about siting near underground conduits and whether Kiwanis would only fund materials or also perform construction. The Kiwanis representative said the club will fund materials and supply volunteer labor, while the town will perform some work and oversee safety-critical elements. The chair moved to permit Kiwanis to proceed with the plan and the board approved the motion by voice vote. The board also discussed a roughly 20-by-40-foot rectangular pavilion located near the concession stand to maximize visibility while avoiding underground utilities.
