The Chair reopened discussion about a student advisory position after the board received an application from an interested near-adult. Board members said a one-year, nonvoting, unpaid term could give younger residents exposure to civic processes and help the Parks Board get input on facility use. "It sounds like it's not voting. It's not paying, so it would just benefit us for the input," a Committee member said.
Members agreed the Chair would follow up with Randy and Charlie, check eligibility (whether age requirements apply), draft a short application (or adapt the current board application), and bring an update to the council or the next Parks Board meeting. No formal motion or vote was recorded on creating the position during this meeting.
