Lester Rolfe, mayor of Oak Grove, addressed the Saint Francis Area Schools board during the visitors period, outlining several city projects and thanking the district for its partnership. Rolfe said the city is advancing road work and two planned roundabouts on Lake George Boulevard and is seeking a grant to extend the Lake George Trail to the high-school area. "My name is Lester Rolfe, mayor of Oak Grove," he said during his remarks.
Rolfe told the board Oak Grove is pursuing litigation against the Minnesota Secretary of State and Anoka County to preserve the use of paper poll rosters on election day and invited a board member to attend the Oak Grove council meeting on Aug. 31. He also said he will not run for reelection, thanking board members for their cooperation: "I have not run for reelection, and so given the year, like a couple of you, I'm done." Rolfe concluded by publicly thanking Superintendent Carson Anderson for his work with the city and encouraging continued collaboration.
