The commission approved deeding a small strip of county right-of-way adjacent to Lakeshore Road to property owners John and Monica Skeen to correct an irregularity between subdivision and roadway plats and restore driveway symmetry.
Planning and zoning manager Tom McKinney explained the parcel’s history and said county staff could not find a reason the parcel remained as county property on plat maps. McKinney said the Skeens would deed and resurvey the lot lines following purchase. A motion was made and restated on the record as a deed transfer to the Skeens at a $0 sale price, with the Skeens paying for required survey and recording costs.
Commissioners voted in favor and the motion carried. Staff said the transfer would be processed once the survey and recording costs were addressed by the purchasers.
