Resident asks council to remove fall‑zone rule blocking proposed flagpole

He said the two large pine trees that previously shaded the triangle died, and he described the flagpole's construction and a roughly $500 cost to him.
"It has to there has to be a fall zone of 1.5 times the height of the flagpole," Stuckey said, arguing the restriction is inconsistent with other fixed objects near roadways, such as poles and signage. He asked council to review or eliminate the fall‑zone provision as applied to small neighborhood settings and invited staff to examine photos he offered to provide.
The presiding officer said staff would follow up with Stuckey after the meeting to explore options and next steps.
