Supervisors authorize electric supply bid with $0.125/kWh cap amid anticipated price rise

The Township's current electric supply agreement for 100% renewable energy at $0.09844 per kilowatt-hour is due to expire in October. Staff and the broker Epex advised that prices are expected to increase to approximately $0.105–$0.115/kWh depending on contract length.
Given the forecast, the Board authorized bidding electric supply and set a maximum award rate of $0.125/kWh to give staff flexibility in procurement. Mr. Laverty moved to authorize bidding and to award up to the cap; Ms. Maynard seconded and the motion passed.
