Custer County supervisors approve monthly claims, create handbook committee and clear event road closures

The Custer County Board of Supervisors convened July 28, 2026, in the courthouse boardroom and approved multiple fund claims and administrative actions. Chairperson Blowers opened the meeting at 9:00 a.m.; the board approved General Fund claims (salary and benefit totals reported as Salary-$131,142.51; SS-$9,523.48; Ret-$9,040.92) and Road Fund claims (Salary-$92,727.02; SS-$6,899.87), each by roll call votes recorded as ayes — all.
The board also approved Resolution #21-2026 to establish a Handbook Committee (members named in the resolution) and a series of event-related road closures for the Sandhills Open Road Challenge. Motions on claims, committee formation and road closures were moved and seconded by county supervisors during the meeting and passed by roll call. The meeting adjourned at 10:08 a.m.
