County approves $80,000 reimbursement agreement for Upper Santa Clara River cleanup

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a reimbursement agreement with the Washington County Flood Control Authority to remove woody vegetation and larger dead material from the Upper Santa Clara River.
Todd, representing the Flood Control Authority, told the board the authority "has committed $80,000 towards that, so they will reimburse us." He said the county would handle the contract work and be reimbursed by the authority. Staff described the first phase as work above the rodeo grounds at Gun Lock and noted the effort will include removing debris under bridges and larger material that could clog flows during floods.
Commissioners said the work was necessary given increasing vegetation in the river channel and moved to approve the resolution authorizing the reimbursement agreement; the motion passed.
