Chad briefed commissioners: "The Tourism Tax Advisory Board recently voted to approve funding from the transient room tax...This 1st 1 is for the PPA, the Professional Pickleball Association Tour...The recommendation is for the '26 and '27, with the sponsorship of 100,000, each, each year." The board also approved marketing support for the True Grit mountain-bike event ($5,000), the Underground Running Series events ($5,000 total, split), the Sand Hollow Triathlon marketing aimed at growing the event to collegiate and Olympic-qualifier status, and the 7 Elite International Soccer Tournament with wide participant and economic impacts.
Commissioners approved each recommendation by motion and voice vote. Staff emphasized that TRT funds are collected by the state and redistributed to counties; these approvals represent the Tourism Tax Advisory Board’s investment recommendations to drive visitor spending and destination development.
