County authorizes agreement with Southwest Behavioral Health and ratifies substance-abuse treatment grant

Jennifer Woods presented two related items: a replacement agreement with Southwest Behavioral Health to enable the county to draw down justice-reinvestment funds through the provider for court-support services, and a ratification of a grant application to provide substance-abuse treatment. Woods said the agreement facilitates mental-health and substance-use assessments and case management for people involved in the justice system; the replacement agreement updates an earlier contract.
On the grant, Woods said it funds substance-abuse treatment services capable of serving 24 individuals at a time and originates from 2023 funding so it will not affect current county budgets. Commissioners moved and approved both the agreement and the grant ratification during the meeting.
