Washington County commissioners voted to approve Resolution R-2025-3634, a facility-use and sponsorship agreement with the Dixie Junior Livestock Show Association, after a presentation by youth from Dixie High School and comments from organizers. The agreement allows the association to use Legacy Park facilities at no charge, commits the county to pay utilities and janitorial services during the event, and reduces RV stall rates to $20 per day to help the association raise funds.
Natalie Larson, representing the group, said the sponsorship and county support "is so important to us" and noted the developmental benefits for youth across the county who participate in agriculture programs. County staff described the agreement as a friendly five-year arrangement with a nine-month clause to renegotiate if necessary. The commission moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote. Commissioners and staff praised the youth participants for winning a national title and encouraged county support for the program going forward.
The agreement is structured to make Legacy Park available to the show while providing predictable cost support and a modest fundraising mechanism via RV stall fees.
