Planning board approves 30x60 storage garage for 20th Skeet & Clays with standing-seam roof condition

Brad Newell, secretary of the 20th Skeet & Clays board, described a proposed 30-by-60 steel storage garage to replace existing Connex storage. He said the structure would have a 4-foot foundation wall and a ribbed steel exterior but offered to switch to standing-seam roofing if the board preferred. ‘‘We go through about four tractor trailer loads of clay targets a year, and we’d like to keep one in inventory,’’ Newell said when asked about the building size and storage needs.

The Planning Board accepted jurisdiction of the application, found no potential for regional impact, granted a waiver to submit plans at a smaller scale, and approved the site plan subject to conditions including a standing-seam roof and a color palette that matches the existing 20th Skeet & Clays structures. The motion to approve passed on a board vote; the applicant must satisfy the listed conditions prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy.

What’s next: The applicant will update plan notes to specify the standing-seam roof and color scheme and will meet the standard conditions required prior to certificate of occupancy.
