Lynn reported storm damage updates and debris‑management options, saying the City of Wichita will open Brooks Landfill Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and that other smaller communities have opened burn sites. She added county crews are actively pumping two sites and hope to have the county West Yard out from underwater later today.
"We did find out yesterday that, City of Wichita is opening Brooks Landfill this weekend, Saturday in particular, 8 to 2," Lynn said. Nicole added that the city will run expanded debris drop‑off during business hours at Brooks Landfill starting Saturday through July 27. Commissioners suggested placing the information in their updates.
No formal actions were recorded during the agenda preview; staff said they would continue debris coordination with the city and neighboring communities and would return any requests requiring board authorization to the regular meeting.
