Zack Herringshaw updated the Selectboard on the Montgomery Skate Park Committee’s coordination with the Recreation Board and next steps for advancing park planning. The committee asked the board only for formal recognition as a standing committee under the Recreation Board; no funding request was made at the June 15 meeting. Daniel Khan moved to establish the Montgomery Skate Park Committee as a standing committee under the Recreation Board; the motion was seconded by Chris Dixson-Boles and approved 4–0.
Board members said recognition will allow the committee to coordinate more formally with the Recreation Board and municipal staff on planning, fundraising and permitting as needed. The board did not take any financial action at this meeting; follow-up items will likely appear on future agendas as the committee proceeds with planning.
