Selectboard members and representatives from the Vermont River Conservancy reviewed a proposed transfer of the Salmon property and a conservation easement and agreed to support a funding application to the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board (VHCB). Remy Crettol of the Vermont River Conservancy and Selectboard member Charlie Hancock outlined project background and the next steps; an appraisal is expected by the end of July. The board voted 4–0 to provide a letter of support to advance the VHCB application.
Project funding is described as roughly 67% expected from VHCB and 33% to be provided as match; the Vermont River Conservancy said it is committed to assisting with raising the match and that funds may also come from the town’s Conservation Fund. The board’s formal vote will be part of the funding application package that the VRC submits to VHCB.
