County staff seek more funds for 29th Street North reconstruction amid higher engineering costs

Lynn, presenting the CIP amendment, told commissioners that project R364 — the reconstruction of 29th Street North between 119th and 135th Street West — requires more funding because engineering proposals were higher than anticipated and additional work was negotiated into the contract.
"Item S is a CIP amendment, for increasing funding for project, R364, which is the 29th Street North between 119th and 135th Street West," Lynn said, adding that higher engineering fees over the last two years have driven the request. She said the county worked with consultants and partners and planned to approve the money first and then the engineering contract (item T).
Commissioners indicated they would review the request and may have follow‑up questions before the regular meeting. The board did not vote at the agenda preview; staff characterized the amendment as necessary to cover increased engineering fees and negotiated additional scope.
