Council hears updates on roads, safety cameras, abandoned fiber, CCN project and CDs; no action taken

During its Jan. 13, 2026 meeting the Annetta North Town Council received updates on Bankhead Highway expansion, town road repairs, Quail Ridge Road tree trimming, proposed safety cameras, an abandoned Open Infra fiber project, a joint CCN effort with Annetta, and Certificates of Deposit at Charles Schwab; no action was taken on these items.
Mayor Robert Schmidt and Mayor Pro-Tem Rob Watson briefed the council on a bundle of old-business items. Updates included the future expansion of Bankhead Highway, planned town road repairs, and tree trimming on Quail Ridge Road; discussion on possible placement of safety cameras on major roads; and follow-up on an abandoned fiber-optic project by 'Open Infra.' There was no council action on these items.
Watson also reported on the status of a proposed joint CCN (Certificate of Convenience and Necessity) project between Annetta North and Annetta and updated the council on the status of Certificate(s) of Deposit held with the Charles Schwab brokerage firm. The minutes record these as informational updates with no motions recorded for these old-business items.
