The Ford County Highway Committee met Aug. 5, 2026 at the Ford County Highway Department in Roberts and forwarded two bridge-related agreements to the full county board while tabling a pickup-truck purchase.
County Engineer Alan Harwood reviewed department activity for June and discussed quotes for a 2026 F-150 or equivalent pickup truck. Committee chair Tim Nuss moved to table the truck decision until the committee's September meeting. The minutes show the pickup discussion was deferred, not approved, for further consideration.
The committee voted to send two contract items to the full board: an agreement with WHA for the Drummer Township bridge design (Sec. 26-04156-00-BR) for $111,513.00, and an agreement with HLR for initial inspections of newly constructed structures for $7,815.00. Both motions to forward the agreements were made by committee members and recorded as passed.
Technician Jeremy Putnam read the July bills; the committee voted to send the bills to the full county board. The committee reviewed the fund balance and highway appropriations and expenses without recording further action. The board set its next meeting for Sept. 9, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. and adjourned at 8:20 a.m.
