Finance update: budget stable for now; registration and activities report highlights student events and state qualifiers

Dawn, the district finance presenter, told trustees the district is in a typical seasonal lull for school finance while administrators prepare for next year and await state-level decisions that could affect funding. She urged trustees to bring requests to the finance committee ahead of March 3 so administration can incorporate items into the revised budget for discussion.
Principal Ryan reported registration for the 2025–26 year began Jan. 29 for students in grades 8–11 and staff are using that data to shape course offerings and the master schedule. Ryan also reviewed upcoming student events—snow week activities, a winter play with public performances March 7–9, and athletics updates including four wrestlers qualifying for state (Liam Summer, Ryan McCann, Reed Summer and Mason Hancer). Ryan praised the high school band for a performance at the Minnesota Music Educators Association conference.
