The Kenyon-Wanamingo School District board discussed board-member pay and approved removing the $50 per-meeting stipend while keeping the $1,000 annual base compensation for board members.
During the discussion a board member noted, "Also, everyone knows that was $7,900 last year," calling out the aggregate cost of meeting stipends. Another member moved to remove meeting stipends and retain the $1,000 annual pay; the motion was seconded and the board approved the change by voice vote, 6-0. The chair clarified officer differentials (chair/clerk/vice chair) would remain as previously set.
