Planning board votes to support Artebrae conservation easement proposed by Montana Land Reliance

Broadwater County Planning Board voted to formally "support" the Artebrae conservation easement; MLR representatives said the easement will conserve riparian habitat and reserve two residential rights for estate planning while excluding the ranch headquarters from encumbrance.
The planning board made a motion and voted to support the Artebrae (Artebrae/Arkabrite in packet) conservation easement proposed by Montana Land Reliance. Brad Hansen and Garrett Titus explained the easement would protect riparian habitat, irrigated hay land and important wildlife corridors along River Road while reserving two building rights for estate planning.
Hansen said the owner will retain ranching use and that a 20-acre headquarters parcel is excluded from the easement. Board members asked about utility rights-of-way; Hansen said transmission-line exceptions predate the easement and will be mapped in the baseline resource documentation. A motion to support the Artebrae property easement was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
