The county auditor asked the board to approve a resolution (read as Resolution 2026‑24) consolidating several voting precincts for the 2026 general election as a cost‑saving and streamlining measure.
"I am going to combine Dexter and Fuller, Florence since they're in the same location," the auditor said, explaining that some precincts see very low turnout and combining them would make administration simpler and reduce costs.
The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote. The auditor said the approach mirrors past practice and staff will monitor whether any consolidated precincts become too burdensome to manage before future elections.
