City counsel said the group asked for a 10-year term but the city opted for five years. The lease removes language requiring the baseball group to mow some areas outside the fence (the parks department will maintain those areas) and specifies the city will pay electricity at Eastside Park. The lease also adds language allowing event staff to remove individuals from the baseball area for inappropriate behavior without having to route that request through the parks superintendent and police.
A councilmember moved to approve the lease as presented for five years and the motion passed by roll call. The administration said it would follow up with the baseball group to obtain a signed lease.
