The board approved awarding the window-replacement contract to Jim's Custom Windows for $213,869.20 after staff confirmed three bids were received. Board members asked questions about the prior phase experience and contractor location before the vote.
S6 also recommended awarding the covered-walkway phases 1 and 2 to Tropical Breeze A & W for $94,900, saying savings in the window phase made the walkway work possible this year. "We were able due to saving the money on the window phase 3 of the windows. We were able to do phase 1 and 2, for the covered walk at West Columbus this year," S6 said. The board approved both awards by voice vote.
